Finale weekend was fun, granted the rain wasn’t so great, we still got our races in and we are thankful for that.

Pops got to run the X-Car in the race for 25 laps on Saturday night.  He started 13th, and at the drop of the green flag, a 3 wide situation ended badly as our right front went up and over the hood of the #14.  This sliced our tire, and it also blew up a decent portion of our door.  Quick repair, nothing was damaged beyond those 2 things, and we sent him back out thanks in part to the #36 Dare Stock team who were on hand.

Once back out there, it went green the rest of the way.  In a hard fought battle with the #2 car, pops came victorious.  Until on the white flag lap, confusion arose when the green lights turned off around the track and the checkers were in the air for the leaders’ right behind him.  Letting off the gas, 2 spots were surrendered for a 16th place finish.

On the rainy Sunday, we went out as a part of the first batch of fuel injected cars allowed into the Speedbowl Mini Stocks.  Not having too quick of a car as expected, we survived a ton of mishaps, some just barely, and outran a couple cars for a 15th place finish.  We’re hoping going forward, that we will be able to run our soon-to-be mini stock on Saturday nights and on the Tour.

Up next:  Lee USA Speedway for their annual Oktoberfest!  The car will be in both the Mini Stock event as well as the Outlaw Mini Stocks.  Why? Because we can.  It’s about the laps for us this weekend.
